Who is Jac?
Hi! I’m Jacques Rerolle (you can call me Jac). Half-French, half Malaysian, based on the heritage rich island of Penang. For over six years I’ve been publishing videos on my YouTube channel, Jac Reviews Stuff. To date I’ve produced around 1,200 videos for my approximately 5000 subscribers, with more being added all the time.
My style? Honest, unfiltered, and some might say a little awkward in a relatable way. But what would you expect from a card carrying member of Mensa. You’ll often find me at product launches, soft openings, conventions, or in my studio reviewing random gadgets. Other days I can be seen out in Penang’s bustling streets and cafes filming local businesses or performing stand-up comedy with my own unique sense of humor.
What Stuff Does Jac Review?
While I was initially focused on unboxing and reviewing all sorts of tech and household gadgets, I have expanded the stuff I review to include a diverse variety of experiences and locations as well. Since the rise of Tik Tok and other short form videos became popular, I have started to upload more single take videos when the occasion presents itself. Short tutorials or public awareness clips are something that I’ve experimented with as well.
I’ve never fully defined what “Stuff” I review, because I review anything that interests me and that is an ever expanding list of stuff. A partial list of things I’ve reviewed in the past include:
In addition to objects and destinations, I also enjoy interviewing humans. This gives me an opportunity to either spotlight their business, or draw some attention to what they are doing. Other times, I might shoot a spontaneous “person on the street” clip to get unfiltered opinions of average citizens.
Doing these 1-on-1 interviews provides my viewers with a glimpse of people I find interesting whom they might not get to meet otherwise. It’s my privilege to create and share this type of content with the world.
